1. Who we are
This service is operated by Legger Pty Ltd (ACN 649 597 955), a company incorporated in Australia, trading as Ambit. Legger Pty Ltd is registered with AUSTRAC as a Digital Currency Exchange (DCE) provider, registration number DCE100883653-001.
2. Our regulatory status
Ambit’s AUSTRAC registration is a registration for anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing purposes under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). It is not a product approval, an endorsement, or a prudential or consumer-protection licence, and AUSTRAC does not supervise the general conduct of our exchange service.
Ambit does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and is not authorised or regulated by ASIC to provide financial services or financial product advice. Under current Australian law, the digital assets exchanged through Ambit are generally not regulated as financial products; the regulatory treatment of digital assets is developing and may change.
3. Nature of the service
Ambit provides controlled exchange and settlement operations for verified clients — currently focused on AUD-to-USDT on-ramp — together with verification, dedicated payment details, reconciliation and evidence. Ambit is not a bank, is not an interest, yield, savings or investment product, and does not provide custody for investment purposes. Access is private and controlled, and sensitive actions remain subject to review and approval.
4. Important disclaimers
- Ambit is not a bank or authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI). Amounts and digital assets handled through Ambit are not deposits and are not covered by the Australian Government Financial Claims Scheme or any deposit or investor compensation scheme.
- Ambit does not provide financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Information on this site is general in nature and does not take account of your objectives, financial situation or needs.
- You should obtain your own independent professional advice before transacting.
5. Risk disclosures
- Volatility and loss. The value of digital assets can be highly volatile and may fall as well as rise. You should only transact with money you can afford to lose entirely.
- Stablecoin / de-peg risk. USDT is intended to track the US dollar, but its value is not guaranteed. A loss of peg may affect the value you receive or pay. Ambit does not guarantee its price or its redemption.
- Irreversibility. Blockchain transactions are generally final and cannot be reversed, cancelled or recovered once submitted.
- Availability. Access and capability availability are controlled and may be varied, suspended or withdrawn.
- Regulatory change. Laws affecting digital assets are developing in Australia and elsewhere and may affect the service.
6. Eligibility and restricted jurisdictions
Ambit is available only to eligible clients who complete verification and who have no connection to sanctioned or high-risk jurisdictions. We may refuse, suspend or terminate access on that basis.
7. AML/CTF, verification and sanctions
We comply with our obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). We verify identity, monitor transactions, and may delay, hold, refuse, freeze or report any transaction, or request further information, where required by law or to manage financial-crime risk.
8. Settlement and execution
Where a transaction proceeds, execution and settlement occur under the conditions in force at the time. Ambit does not guarantee an execution price, and completed transactions may be final and irreversible.
9. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a concern or complaint, contact us at support@ambitrail.com. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond in accordance with our complaints procedure. Because Ambit is not ASIC-licensed, external dispute resolution through the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is generally not available; unresolved matters may be pursued through the courts referred to below.
10. Governing law
These matters are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this notice from time to time and will post changes here with a revised date. For questions about this notice, use the request section on the home page.
